Brands Hatch is one of the UK’s most famous and best loved racetracks. It was home to the British Grand Prix 12 times between 1964 and 1985 and continues to host many UK and international racing events. It’s a great day out for thrill seekers young and old. You can even book to drive your own car on the circuit or take a driving lesson (if you’re 11 and over).

Showstoppers at The Stag Sevenoaks
It started life as The Majestic cinema in the 1930s and it’s still the place to go for a great night out in the heart of town. This historic venue has a theatre, two digital cinema screens and studio space for more alternative performances. From blockbuster films to comedy nights, National Theatre productions to the fun filled Christmas pantomime it’s all going on here. Oh yes it is!

Take to the trees at Swanley Park
If you have a head for heights – and a good grip – then head to Swanley Park and get ready to climb. The Tree Trek challenge, which costs £3, is a low rope course perfect for budding climbers. And once you’re back on terra firma there’s lots more to explore and do in this award-winning park.

Bird’s eye views at Eagle Heights Wildlife Park
Eagle Heights Wildlife Park is one of the UK’s largest bird of prey centres. The sanctuary is also home to meerkats and reindeer as well as providing a lovely spot for afternoon tea. Learn to handle and fly an owl or feed meerkats by hand. Take the Alpaca trail through the beautiful Darent Valley or a two mile walk with ice-eyed huskies. Age restrictions apply.

Wonderful panoramas at One Tree Hill
This tranquil spot in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Beauty is a great place to bring the family and the dog. Whatever the weather, although we recommend blue skied days, you’ll be rewarded with wonderful views over the Weald of Kent. See if you can name the rare species of molluscs, insects and plants around you too in what is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Be a-Maze-d at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens
Riverhill Himalayan Gardens was first planted by John Rogers, a friend of Charles Darwin. His family continue to manage this magnificent restoration project. It’s a mesmerising place to visit with the café a perfect spot for light lunches and teas. Try your luck in the fiendishly tricky hedge maze, make a den and spot a Yeti then climb to the top of Little Everest for a rest.

Sunshine making at Camp Kindling
The quirky Camp Kindling festival takes place in the historic woodland near St Clere Estate. The next one isn’t until August 2022 but keep an eye on the website for details of the event programme and to register. Expect singing around the campfire, live music and fun activities from water slides and a flying trapeze to beekeeping.
