The George and Dragon, Chipstead

The George and Dragon Pub and Dining Room is a beautiful 16th Century gastropub that has been feeding locals and visitors since the time of the Tudors. Expect excellent locally sourced seasonal food, of course, but also an atmospheric dining experience complete with heavy oak beams and a roaring log fire.

Twig and Spoon, Sevenoaks

You might not have a garden centre down as a foodie destination, but this unique family-run space has proved a hit with people seeking an intimate, homely atmosphere to hang out with friends and family. The inside décor is New England in style with a sunny exterior courtyard reminiscent of a Mediterranean garden. British cuisine is the focus using ingredients sourced from small farms and producers in the locality. Open 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Hattusa, Sevenoaks

Hattusa provides contemporary Turkish cuisine and is a great spot to socialise in Sevenoaks. The menu offers a selection of hot and cold meze, including humus, tarama, hellim fries and falafel, as well as kebabs, seafood and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Sunday.

The Bucks Head, Sevenoaks

Imaginative, delicious food and one of the friendliest places in the district. This highly rated traditional country pub is perfect to explore this beautiful corner of Kent. Just decide whether you walk off dinner or make it your destination. Roaring log fires, comfy sofas and exceptional ales, wines and spirits. You won’t want to leave in a hurry. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

The Sevenoaks branch of this growing Thai-food restaurant chain is as popular for its colourful décor as the food it serves. Upstairs you’ll see pointed high ceilings from the old church the building used to be. Downstairs, you won’t be able to miss the two gigantic and handmade lampshades before you return to your conversation.
